Southern Army Commander Lt Gen AK Singh visited the school earlier this month and interacted with girl students, who have enrolled over the last two years.
“The commander motivated the students and urged them to imbibe the traits of time management, discipline, devotion to cause and physical fitness in their journey to joining the armed forces,” said a senior army officer.
“He inspired the first and the second batch of girl students at the school to keep working towards their goals and sanctioned projects worth Rs15 lakh for the computer-based training facility and an electric vehicle for the school,” the officer added.
Group captain Ujjwal Ghormade , the school principal, told TOI, “We will be able to equip our six hostels with the newly gifted internet connecting devices and use an electric vehicle for various logistic purposes on the campus spread over 115 acres. The commander’s interaction with students will certainly motivate them to achieve their goals.” Later, the army commander inaugurated a learning centre and gymnasium for youths at the Military Apshinge village.
